Project:

Deepansh, a bright and cheerful 3-year-old from Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, was leading a happy life with his family until two and a half months ago. He developed a high fever that wouldn’t go away. Worried, his parents sought medical help. Even after several visits to the hospital, the fever persisted. Soon, a blood test revealed that Deepansh was suffering from B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a type of blood cancer.

Disbelief and Devastated

When we heard the word ‘cancer,’ our world shattered. All we heard about this disease is that it takes people away and even the thought of losing our child is…just a few days ago our little boy was running around and playing with his sister and now he has Cancer?” –
B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells. This young boy needs prolonged chemotherapy to survive.

They sold the only land they owned

Deepansh’s father, Jai Prakash, works as a construction labourer, earning just 300 rupees daily, while his mother, Laxmi Devi, is a housewife. They sold their only property, a small farm that was their main source of income. They have spent all that they had on Deepansh’s initial treatment, which included a chemotherapy session that left him weak and constantly feverish.“We somehow started his treatment by selling the farmland but just after his first session of chemo, our child had to be admitted to the ICU and he is now on a ventilator fighting for his life. He is too young to understand what is happening to him and pleads in his weak voice to take him back home” -Laxmi, mother

The little boy winces in pain, unable to eat properly since a week

Chemotherapy tends to weaken the immunity of a child and hence, little Deepansh feels miserably sick. He has been in the ICU for the past 7 days and the family is struggling to keep the treatment going.
Watching my son suffer is unbearable. The chemotherapy has made him so weak, he can’t eat properly and is constantly in pain. We’ve done everything we can, but we need help to save our child.“- Jay Prakash, father

Sister waits at home, unaware of the severity of her brother’s condition

Deepansh’s illness has taken a heavy toll on the entire family. He spent seven days on a ventilator due to severe complications from the chemotherapy. His body is frail, and he experiences constant irritation and weakness. Despite his young age, Deepansh is a fighter, but the battle is far from over.
My daughter knows her brother is sick but she doesn’t understand how serious it is. She just wants him to get better so they can play together like they used to, and often asks when he will be back to his naughty and active self. It breaks my heart to see her so hopeful…I am losing hope…” -Laxmi, mother

Deepansh was always so full of life, always playing and laughing. Now, he barely has the strength to smile. His sister misses her playful brother, and all that his family wants is to see him healthy and happy again. They need all the support they can get to make that happen.

The family’s dire financial situation has left them with no means to continue Deepansh’s treatment without help. They are appealing to the community for financial assistance to cover the medical expenses and give Deepansh a fighting chance to recover and lead a normal life again.

Donate to save this 3-year-old from cancer.
