Abandoned & Helpless, 100+ Elderly People At A To Z Old Age Home Need Your Support To Survive

“We once got a call from a market saying that there was an old lady lying near the gutter. Upon arriving there,we happened to see that old lady, crying in pain, covered in first and her own stool, with broken legs… I will never be able to forget what I felt when I witnessed that” – says Kushi, from A2Z Foundation in shock. What thoughts would  this old lady innocent, helpless elderly lady would have gone through? The same hands that once held her while she was a mother of a small child, today those same hands are raised to beat her brutally. What wrong has this lady done? What could she do if her own kids have forced her to beg just so that they get money to drink alcohol?

This is just one story out of so many that we find today in our society. The pillars that once built our homes are now threatened and tortured, beaten till the bones are broken, injured to a point where death seemed easier, insulted and left alone on the streets with nothing to fill their empty stomach or cover their shivering bodies in winter.  The elders of our society definitely don’t deserve the life that they are living. With constant fear of “Will my children remove me from this house once I grow sick?” Despite all of this pain and helplessness, the elderly people find their safe home in A2Z Foundation. 

A foundation that was started in the year 2022, this place of refuge was created to help these abandoned elderly people who are less often than not, even left in the hospitals with no one coming to get them back, A2Z Foundation has now become theirs. Started by Ashok and Dikhsha, this foundation fulfills all the criteria, whether it is providing them with proper food, warm blankets or a beautiful shelter filled with laughter, hope and light. Today this foundation has approx 28 individuals who are now living a second life, a life that is eventually filling their wounds that were given to them. 

Although this Foundation is a home for many, it still lacks one thing. And that is a bigger, better place with great facilities. Because the amount of cost is rising today, the founders of A2Z Foundation are finding it difficult to pay and meet the current needs of the elders. Adding to their problem they have also been asked to vacate the house. They currently need funds to look for a bigger place.  

From shortage of room to paying multiple bills to meeting the medical requirements, this foundation cannot do it without your help. Today, there is a smile on these individuals faces, a person who calls them “Maaji” “Pitaji” A place where they would always want to live happily, finally these elders have found that peace in their lives, please don’t let this end.
