Located in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, Guardian of Angels is an NGO that has dedicated itself to rescuing and caring for injured and vulnerable monkeys. With the increasing urbanization in Haryana, monkey populations have surged in cities, leading to frequent human-wildlife conflicts. Unfortunately, many monkeys face abuse, suffering from acid attacks, beatings, and severe injuries, especially from accidental contact with live electrical wires. The situation in Haryana has become critical, and Guardian of Angels is stepping in to address these challenges.
Dinesh Kumar, one of the organization’s committed members, shares how the organization operates tirelessly to save these animals. With limited resources, they rescue monkeys from roadsides and unsafe urban environments. The rescued monkeys are brought to their shelter, where they receive proper medical care, nourishing food, and a safe environment to recover. Many of these rescued animals are too injured to be released back into the wild and, therefore, require lifelong care. Currently, the shelter houses 50 monkeys, each of whom has been saved from dire circumstances and would struggle to survive without ongoing support.
Despite their dedication, Guardian of Angels faces numerous challenges. One of the biggest obstacles is the lack of a proper shelter facility where the monkeys can live safely and comfortably. The organization dreams of building a larger, more secure sanctuary, complete with a spacious enclosure that could provide these animals with a more natural and stress-free environment. However, funding constraints have delayed these plans, and the organization is in urgent need of financial support to make this dream a reality.
Another significant hurdle is the lack of an ambulance for their rescue operations. Currently, Dinesh and his team rely on rickshaws and private cabs to transport injured monkeys. The absence of a dedicated vehicle often results in delays, and in some cases, the animals’ condition worsens or they even die en route to the shelter due to inadequate transportation options. Having an ambulance would not only make the rescues more efficient but also ensure that these vulnerable animals receive medical attention in time to save their lives.
As protectors of monkeys, whom many devotees of Hanuman consider sacred, Guardian of Angels appeals to the public for support. With a strong belief in compassion and a commitment to ending the suffering of these animals, the NGO is reaching out for donations to fund a new shelter enclosure and an ambulance. Every donation, big or small, contributes directly to saving lives and improving the welfare of these intelligent and sensitive creatures. With your support, Guardian of Angels can continue its noble mission to protect and care for monkeys, providing them with a safe, caring, and loving environment.
