Project:
Nandu Lal Joshi, an American by birth and a true Brijwasi at heart, has dedicated his life to the welfare of gaumatas in Vrindavan. Inspired by the deep spirituality of Braj and his love for these sacred animals, he founded a gaushala that now houses over 500 cows, most of whom have suffered from accidents and neglect. Nandu’s compassion and commitment to the cows are unshakeable; he has not only created a shelter for them but also instilled a nurturing environment where they receive round-the-clock care, medical facilities, and plenty of nourishment.
His organization, “Care for Cows Society,” ensures that every cow at the gaushala is provided with essential medical attention, nutritious meals, and, most importantly, love. The cows here are not just sheltered; they are cherished as family, and every volunteer treats them with utmost respect and compassion.
However, Nandu’s gaushala now faces two urgent needs that are critical for its mission: a permanent shade and an ambulance. The shade, estimated to cost around 10 lakh rupees, would provide essential protection to the cows from extreme weather conditions, allowing them to rest and heal comfortably. Currently, the shelter lacks proper shade, making it challenging to maintain a healthy environment for the cows, especially during scorching summers and heavy rains.
The need for an ambulance is equally pressing. Currently, Nandu has to rent vehicles to rescue injured cows, which often results in delays. This delay can be fatal, as some cows do not survive the wait. Having a dedicated ambulance would enable immediate rescue and transportation of injured or accident-stricken cows, significantly improving their chances of survival and recovery. The ambulance would be equipped with the necessary medical supplies and a team to provide first aid on the spot, saving countless lives that would otherwise be lost due to logistical setbacks.
Nandu Lal Joshi’s gaushala in Vrindavan is more than just a shelter; it is a sanctuary of love, care, and devotion. But to continue its mission effectively, the gaushala urgently needs financial support. With your help, they can raise the necessary funds to construct the shade and acquire an ambulance, enabling them to expand their rescue efforts and provide even better care to these innocent animals. Every contribution makes a difference and brings them closer to a future where every cow in Vrindavan can live a life of dignity and peace.
