- There are moments in life when we are faced with the harsh reality that some creatures suffer more than we can imagine. These creatures are innocent, voiceless, and helpless in their pain. Among them are monkeys. Monkeys are some of the most intelligent, social, and affectionate animals on the planet. They have families, they form bonds, and they experience pain and joy just like we do. In many cultures, monkeys are revered, even worshipped, as symbols of strength, loyalty, and compassion. But despite this deep connection, many of them are suffering in silence, victims of cruelty and neglect.
- Monkeys that are brutally beaten by humans, left with broken limbs and deep, gaping wounds, or picture another, covered in the remnants of acid thrown upon them out of malice, their skin burned and raw. Then there are the monkeys who, after being struck by vehicles in hit-and-run accidents, lie on the side of the road, helpless and abandoned. These are not isolated incidents. They happen every single day, to countless monkeys across the country.
- They are voiceless and helpless creatures that were made to live in society just like us. But unfortunately, today, they can’t cry out for help, and they can’t defend themselves. The question is: Who will speak for them? Who will stand up for these innocent beings who suffer in silence?
- This is where the organisation, Guardian of Angels comes in—rescuing and rehabilitating these suffering souls, giving them a chance at life. Guardian of Angels is an organisation dedicated to rescuing and caring for monkeys who have suffered from cruelty and neglect. Founded by Dinesh, this organisation has made it their mission to provide medical care, transport, and rehabilitation to these monkeys who desperately need help.
- But the need is overwhelming. Monkeys are brought in daily—injured, sick, traumatised—and every one of them has a heartbreaking story. Guardian of Angels does their best, offering urgent medical treatment and care, but the reality is that their resources are limited. Despite their tireless efforts, they still struggle to meet the overwhelming demand for care.
- When a monkey is in need of an emergency, ideally an ambulance would immediately rush to the scene to transport the animal to a veterinary hospital for treatment. However, due to a severe lack of funds, the organisation is often unable to afford proper ambulances. Instead, Dinesh and his small team must resort to using their own personal vehicles to transport these fragile creatures. Very often then not unfortunately, they lose their lives before even reaching the hospital.
- For many of us, monkeys are much more than just animals. In Hinduism, monkeys are revered as representations of Lord Hanuman, a symbol of strength, courage, and devotion. Hanuman is a god who embodies loyalty, service, and protection. And for the millions of devotees who honour him, there is a moral and sacred duty to care for these animals, who are seen as his earthly representatives.
- Guardian of Angels has made it their mission to help these monkeys heal and recover but they still need your support and love. Your little would mean one life to a monkey. Today let’s make it our goal to save and rescue more monkeys that are in need and help create a better life for them.
