Project:
Vrindavan, the sacred land of Lord Krishna, is home to thousands of elderly widowed women—affectionately called Matajis—who live in unimaginable hardship. Abandoned by their families, thrown out by their sons, and left to fend for themselves, these Matajis endure a life of loneliness and struggle. Despite their age and frailty, many of them resort to begging on the streets of Vrindavan to survive.
These Matajis have no family to care for them. Their children, who should be their support, have turned their backs on them. They have no one to share their pain or provide them the love they so deeply yearn for. Yet, in the face of such adversity, they continue to live with quiet dignity, seeking shelter in small rented rooms or ashrams.
With winter upon us, the struggles of these Matajis become even more heartbreaking. Many cannot afford the basics—slippers to protect their feet, blankets to shield them from the cold, or sweaters to keep them warm. Even their modest food needs often go unmet. They are vulnerable, exposed to the biting cold, and at risk of severe health issues.
But together, we can change this. You and I can be the family they no longer have.
To ease their suffering this winter, we have taken the first step by arranging 1,000 blankets and slippers for the Matajis. However, this is only the beginning. There are still many Matajis waiting, praying for someone to come forward and provide them the warmth and care they so desperately need.
Your support can make a real difference. Your donation can provide:
- A warm blanket to protect them from the cold.
- A pair of slippers to keep their feet safe and warm.
- Nutritious food to fill their empty stomachs.
Every donation, no matter how small, is a ray of hope for these Matajis. It is a gesture that says they are not forgotten, that someone cares for them, and that love still exists in this world.
This winter, let us come together and stand for these Matajis. Let us be the family they have lost. Your one donation can save a life, bring a smile, and restore hope in their hearts.
Join us in this mission of compassion. Donate now and be the reason a Mataji feels loved and cared for this winter. Together, we can make a difference.
