“If I die tomorrow, I don’t know whether I may have so much impact. My goal in life was to create an impact and to leave a legacy of doing good, so people could continue that even when I’m not there, and that’s exactly why, I started being here in this organization that was started by my grandfather.

I couldn’t live with the fact that I was doing a 9-5 job. It did pay me well, but the amount of love I received from these innocent elderly people was something I’ll never be able to put into words. Seeing their pain, ached my heart to the core. We are trying our best in proving them with food, shelter, clothing and more than anything else, love. Love that they never received from their families. Some of them were left on the streets all by themselves only because they were old.

There were some elderly people who gave their everything in order to give their children a better life. They worked tirelessly in the heat to make sure their children don’t go hungry. But today, when their kids have reached an age where they are earning well, they abandon their very own parents. Hungry and weary, these elderly people even ate food from the streets that were given to the animals. What have they don’t that they deserve this kind of life is what I kept thinking…

For these elderly people, I am all that they have. The amount of times they have cried with tears of gratefulness is countless. Whenever I get sick, they are there to ask me what’s wrong. They not only show love but also there is a sense of void that I believe they carry. And that void is something that we as an organization are trying to fill.

Today, although we are doing more than we can imagine, we are facing financial challenges. There are times where we really have to calculate our ration, our medical expanses etc. My dream is to make sure this place is not only a safe haven but also a place that overflows with fulfilling their needs.” says Shri Prashad Sharma
