Every winter, the stray dogs of Manali face extreme cold temperatures that threaten their very survival.  The chill is not just a discomfort; it is a life-or-death battle. Many of these dogs, abandoned and forgotten by society, are left to endure freezing nights with no shelter, no food, and no warmth. They have no place to call home, no one to care for them as the mercury drops to bone-chilling levels.

Not just that, but most of these dogs often catch some or the other infections caused by little wounds that eventually rots and infects major areas of their body. Leading them in extreme pain, suffering and most importantly in a deadly situation. Some have broken limbs, open wounds, or are suffering from infections that need immediate medical attention. The trauma they endure is unimaginable, yet they continue to fight to stay alive, looking for any ounce of kindness that might come their way. It is a harsh reality that goes largely unnoticed by the world.

For dogs like these, there is a man named Kamlesh, who started a Dog Foundation called Manali Strays. Manali Strays have been tirelessly rescuing dogs like these and helping them have a better life. Their job is not only rescuing these innocent lives but is also giving them shelter, food and most importantly treating them medically so that they can live. Sadly, every day, this foundation faces the harsh reality of not having enough funds to keep up with the growing demand of rescuing the dogs and fulfilling their medical care, food, and shelter.
