Project:
We sing Krishna’s name with devotion. We call him ‘Gopal’ the protector of cows. We celebrate his leelas, imagine him playing the flute as cows gather around him… and yet, in today’s world, we turn away when those very cows cry out in pain.
This is the heartbreaking contrast that moved two brothers Rishi Vasistha and Shyam Vasistha to act.

Their journey began with one devastating sight: a cow collapsed by the roadside. Her body was shredded by dog bites. Her stomach was swollen with plastic waste. She couldn’t cry anymore. She had suffered for too long. No one stopped to help her. But they did.
They couldn’t save her life but that one moment of pain turned into a lifetime of purpose. With tears in their eyes, and with nothing in hand but a burning desire to help, they started Shri Krishna Vande Gaushala not with concrete or money, but with bamboo poles and pure devotion.
Their first shelter was makeshift, fragile, but filled with love.

But life kept testing them. Storms came. Winds tore through their bamboo shelter. Cows fell sick. They watched helplessly as the little structure they had built with so much hope crumbled.
There was no support. No government help. Just two brothers, some cows, and their belief that if they kept going, Krishna would walk with them. And they did keep going.
Today, Shri Krishna Vande Gaushala is home to countless rescued cows, abandoned, electrocuted, hit by vehicles, starved on the roads, or saved from slaughter.

They’ve taken in cows no one else wanted. They’ve stayed up nights holding those in pain, feeding the weak, wrapping trembling calves in blankets during cold waves. They’ve treated wounded animals when they barely had money for the next meal. They’ve cried. Prayed. Continued.
Because for them, this isn’t just a shelter, this is their seva. Their offering to Krishna. And yet, the struggle never ends.
Yes, they have a shelter now… but resources are scarce. Feeding even one cow daily requires more than love; it needs fodder, medicines, caretakers, shelter, upkeep, and transport.

Recently, they’ve even had to turn away a few rescues not because they didn’t care, but because they simply didn’t have the means. And each time, their hearts broke a little more.
“How can we worship Krishna and ignore the beings closest to him?” they ask.
Cows were not just part of Krishna’s story, they were his constant companions. His family.
If we truly believe in Krishna, we must also protect what he held sacred. Today, Shri Krishna Vande Gaushala needs your help. To continue their mission. To expand their shelter. To care for the cows who still lie wounded and unseen on our roads. To never again turn away a soul in need.

Your donation is not just support, it’s an act of devotion. It’s saying: I see what Krishna saw in them, love, gentleness, and divine innocence.
Please help Rishi and Shyam protect these sacred lives. Donate to Shri Krishna Vande Gaushala. Let no cow suffer in silence again.
