Project:
She sits quietly near the temple steps, her wrinkled hands trembling as she wipes her tears. “Mujhe ghar se nikaal diya… maara bhi, keh diya ke main bojh hoon,” she whispers. (They threw me out of my own house… they even beat me, and said I was a burden.)
With nowhere to go, no one to call her own, she walked for days, until she reached Vrindavan. Here, amidst thousands of widows and abandoned mothers, she found shelter, but not love. Her eyes still search for the family that once called her “Ma.”
Vrindavan, the land where Lord Krishna once spread love, is now home to countless mothers like her, forgotten, broken, and left behind. Once, these women gave life, held their children close, and healed every pain with their gentle hands. But today, they sit by temple walls and narrow lanes, their sarees faded, their hearts heavy. Some whisper prayers to Krishna to ease their loneliness. Others simply cry in silence, remembering the homes that no longer remember them.
As Diwali approaches, our homes fill with lights, laughter, and love. Diyas shine bright, sweets are exchanged, families gather together. But in Vrindavan, darkness still lingers in the hearts of these mothers. No one knocks on their door. No lamps glow for them. No child touches their feet for blessings. Their only prayer now is simple, “Bhagwan, kisi ka diya humare kamre mein bhi jale.” (God, may someone’s lamp light up my room too.)
Thankfully, True Hope Foundation has been reaching out to these Vrindavan Matas, offering them not just food and ration, but the warmth of being remembered. This Diwali, our mission is simple yet sacred: to bring light back into the lives of the mothers who once brought light into ours.
With your support, we are providing basic rations, hot meals, sarees, and love to hundreds of mothers who thought they were forgotten forever. Every small act of kindness, every rupee donated, helps another mother smile again, helps another diya burn in the corner of a lonely room.
Because these mothers once celebrated Diwali holding their children close. Today, they wait, hoping someone, somewhere, will remember them again.
So this Diwali, while you light your home with lamps, light one more diya in Vrindavan. Let it burn for the mother who prays for you without even knowing your name. Let it shine for the woman who once held and healed someone just like you. Let it remind them, they are not forgotten.
True Hope Foundation is their only family now. Help us make their Diwali a blessed one, filled with food, warmth, and love. Your donation can bring light where only darkness has lived for too long.
This Diwali, don’t just celebrate light. Become it. Donate now and let these mothers of Vrindavan feel alive again.
