Project:
Five years ago, when most people turned their faces away from pain, Aditi chose to walk towards it. She started Empathy Unlimited, not as a grand plan or an organization, but as a small act of compassion, a promise to never let a suffering soul go unnoticed.
What began with one injured dog outside her home has now grown into a full-fledged rescue and recovery centre for hundreds of injured, paralysed, and abandoned animals, mostly dogs and cats who had nowhere else to go.
Aditi’s days are filled with sights that would break most hearts, dogs dragged by cars, cats thrown away like trash, little puppies paralyzed from road accidents.
But while others look away, she kneels down and picks them up. Her hands never flinch, her face never turns away. “If it is their will to live,” she says softly, “who am I to let them die?”
That one sentence defines Empathy Unlimited.
People often ask her how she manages to touch the wounded, how she feeds dogs with maggot wounds or cradles paralyzed ones who cannot move. Aditi simply smiles. “They’re not disgusting,” she says, “they’re just hurt.”
But what hurts her more is seeing how easily people abandon them, leaving them on roadsides, under flyovers, or at temple gates to die slowly, all because they can’t bear to look at them.
Yet Aditi bears it all, the sight, the smell, the endless medical bills, with grace and strength that only true compassion can give. She believes that empathy should not end where comfort begins.
Today, Empathy Unlimited is home to dozens of paralyzed, blind, and critically injured animals. Many can never walk again. But under Aditi’s care, they rediscover something far greater, the will to live.
She feeds them, cleans them, massages their weak limbs, and talks to them as if they were her own children. And maybe, in a way, they are.
But love alone cannot keep this place running. Medicines, food, rent, surgeries, diapers for paralysed dogs, everything costs money. Every rupee donated helps Aditi save another life, buy another meal, or fund another surgery.
Empathy Unlimited isn’t just a shelter, it’s a sanctuary where life is respected, no matter how broken. It’s proof that even when the world gives up, one woman’s empathy can still keep hope alive.
So if you’ve ever believed that compassion can change the world, be the reason one more tail wags, one more wound heals, one more heart beats.
Support Empathy Unlimited. Because every life deserves a chance, and every act of empathy truly is unlimited.
