Project:
On the sacred day of Dev Uthani Ekadashi, it is said that after four months of divine rest, Lord Vishnu awakens from His deep Yog Nidra.
The cosmos itself celebrates this awakening, temples echo with the sound of conch shells, diyas are lit in every home, and hearts are filled with devotion and hope.
But as we light our diyas before the Lord, Pooja Sharma lights another kind of diya, one of dignity, for those who left this world unclaimed and unloved.
While we prepare to celebrate the awakening of God, she performs the final rites of those forgotten by the world, the abandoned bodies on roads, railway tracks, or in hospitals, those who have no one left to call their own.
For her, every soul, whether rich or poor, known or unknown, is a child of the same awakened Vishnu, deserving of moksha and respect in death.
Where others turn away in fear, Pooja steps forward in faith. She lights the pyre, folds her hands, chants mantras, and whispers,
“Bhagwan, inke liye bhi dwar khol dena.” Because for her, seva is not charity, it is worship.
This Dev Uthani Ekadashi (1st November), while the gods awaken in the heavens, let us awaken compassion on earth.
For every cremation, for every body given dignity in death, there are costs, wood, rituals, priests, transport, all borne out of faith and love. But love alone cannot sustain it forever. Pooja needs your support.
Let us offer a part of our devotion not just in flowers and prayers, but in action.
Let us help her continue this divine work, to ensure that no unclaimed body leaves this earth without dignity, without prayer, without the warmth of human compassion.
When you donate today, you are not just giving money, you are offering a final farewell to a forgotten soul.
You are participating in a sacred yagna of humanity. So, this Dev Uthani Ekadashi, as Lord Vishnu rises, let our hearts rise too, in gratitude, in compassion, and in giving.
