From Borders to Forgotten, Standing With Our Real Heroes This Republic Day…

In their youth, they stood at the borders so we could sleep peacefully. They walked through snow, heat, rain, and d#nger so that our homes would remain safe. They missed birthdays, fest#vals, and family moments so that our nation could stand tall. These men were once our shields. Today, many of them are forgotten.

Support Our Heroes was born from a painful truth, that after serving the nation with courage and sacrifice, many retired ex-soldiers are left behind. Some do not receive pensions. Some have no stable jobs. Some are b@ttl!ng old age, !lLness, and lonel!ness.

Many are found living in po#r conditions, struggling to arrange even their daily meals. These are not b#gg#rs. These are our veterans.

During the OROP prot#$ts at Jantar Mantar, the founders personally met many retired soldiers and their families. They heard stories that shook their hearts, stories of brave men who once guarded the nation, now struggling to afford food and med#c#ne.

Stories of w#r wid0ws trying to raise children alone. Stories of families who l0st their only earning member in service to the country and were left with no long-term support. That is when they decided this could not be ign0red.

Support Our Heroes works to ensure that no ex-soldier or ex-soldier’s family is left h*lpless. The organisation provides monthly ration support to retired soldiers who have no regular i#come. For them, this ration is not charity, it is dignity. It means they do not have to sleep hungry. It means they do not have to stand in lines asking for h#lp. It means they can live with respect.

The organisation also supports the children of ex-soldiers who lost their lives. When a ex-soldier dies, the family does not only lose a loved one, they lose their future. The organisation ensures that these children receive education till at least the 12th grade, so they can build a life with confidence and hope. Education is not just books; it is the promise that their father or mother’s sacr!fice will not be forgotten.

This Republic Day, we ask a simple question: If they protected our future, shouldn’t we protect theirs?

These heroes never asked for anything while serving the nation. Today, they quietly st#uggle. Many are found in heartbreaking conditions, old, weak, and invisible to the world. But Support Our Heroes refuses to look away. They are doing their best, but they cannot do this alone.
