Project:
A speeding bike came out of nowhere and rammed into Umang, who was playing outside. The rider didn’t stop. The bike dragged the child for nearly 25 metres before fleeing the scene. There was chaos everywhere: people screaming, blood on the road, and a child lying motionless.
When Umang’s father reached the spot and saw his son lying there, broken and bleeding, he couldn’t take it. He fainted on the spot. At that moment, his world collapsed.
Umang was rushed for emergency treatment. Doctors said his condition was critical. His skull had fractured into four parts. He couldn’t move his hands or legs. He couldn’t see. He was barely breathing. He was immediately put on a ventilator and remained on life support for 24 days. Those days felt endless for the family, filled with fear, prayers, and helpless waiting.
Doctors told them clearly that Umang’s condition was extremely serious. Brain surgery and continuous hospital care were necessary. Keeping him under medical supervision was vital. At home, anything could happen.
But treatment comes at a cost this family could not afford.
Umang’s father is a daily-wage electrician. Every rupee he had earned went into hospital bills. He sold whatever little possessions he owned. When nothing was left, the family faced the most painful decision of their lives. Due to lack of money, they were forced to bring Umang back home, even though the doctors warned that it was risky.
For the last two and a half months, Umang has been lying on a bed at home in a coma-like state. He cannot speak. He cannot see. His hands and legs have stiffened. Doctors say his condition remains extremely serious. His pain continues, quietly, every day.
Before the accident, Umang was the light of his home—the ghar ka chirag. He was deeply attached to his father. He would bring him food and say, “Papa, eat.” He would hug him, ask him to play, and sit beside him. Life was simple, but it was full.
Now, his father spends his nights awake, sitting beside the bed, watching his son breathe. He cannot step out to work. He has no money left to buy medicines or feed his family. All he can do now is cry and pray.
He prays for a miracle- that someone will come forward and help his son get admitted to the hospital again and save him.
Today, the True Hope Foundation feels like that miracle.
Doctors have said that if Umang is admitted again and receives proper medical care, there is still a chance he can improve. Keeping him at home is dangerous. Every day without treatment puts his life at risk.
To every parent reading this, you understand this pain. You know what it means to feel helpless while your child suffers.
This family has nothing left to give. But Umang still has a life to fight for.
Please come forward and join the True Hope Foundation to help admit Umang back into the hospital. Please help this family escape this unbearable misery.
Your support today can give Umang another chance at life.
