This Hanuman Jayanti, Don’t Just Celebrate — Serve His Beloved Monkeys

On this auspicious Hanuman Jayanti, we invite you to join a mission rooted in compassion, devotion, and service — a mission that honours the spirit of Lord Hanuman by protecting the very creatures He embodies.

Bhagabat Community is a humble, ground-up initiative run by a devoted woman who has made the welfare of monkeys her life’s calling. Every single day, rain or shine, she ensures that 50 to 60 monkeys are fed, cared for, and never left behind. But her work goes far beyond feeding.

When a monkey becomes entangled in the deadly kite-thread known as Manja the sharp nylon string that silently injures and kills animals in our neighbourhoods she is the one who rushes to the scene. She gently frees them, tends to their wounds, and nurses them back to health with patience and love that can only come from the heart.

And when a monkey loses its battle when, despite every effort, life slips away she ensures that even in death, they are treated with dignity. She performs proper burial rites and rituals, because to her, every life is sacred, every soul deserving of a respectful farewell.This is not a large organisation with offices and staff. This is one woman, a community of supporters, and an unshakeable commitment to service.

But the need is growing.

Urban expansion, kite festivals, shrinking forests, and increasing human-animal conflict mean that more monkeys are arriving injured, malnourished, and in desperate need of medical care. Right now, there is no dedicated facility where these animals can receive proper treatment, surgery, or rehabilitation. Injured monkeys are either turned away or cared for in makeshift conditions with limited resources. That is why we are building a dedicated hospital for monkeys — a safe, equipped space where injured and sick animals can receive the veterinary care they need and deserve. A place where they can recover, heal, and when ready, return to their natural lives.

Your donation will go towards:

• Construction and setup of a monkey care and treatment facility
• Medical equipment, medicines, and veterinary support
• Daily food and nutrition for 50–60 monkeys
• Rescue tools and safety gear for Manja-net operations
• Sustainable, long-term care for the community of monkeys

What Bhagabat Community has built is rare — a space where ancient reverence for animals meets urgent, practical action.
