They Were Left To Die On The Road, But Adarshila Saved Them

We live in a world where children leave their own parents on the roadside to die.The same parents who once gave up their own happiness, worked day and night, and gave their everything to raise those children. The hands that once held them when they were weak are now the same hands left trembling in hunger, loneliness, and pain.

And sadly, the torture does not end there. Many elderly parents face emotional and physical abuse at the hands of their own children. Some are beaten, insulted, and treated like a burden in the homes they once built with love. Many are eventually thrown out onto the streets, abandoned to die of starvation, illness, and harsh weather exposure. Left helpless, confused, and broken, they wait for someone who may never come back.

But in the middle of this cruelty and abandonment, one man stepped in to save them.

Goswami Shashank, the founder of Adarshila Old Age Home, started this mission in 2013 with one purpose- to rescue abandoned parents and help them live the rest of their lives with dignity, safety, and care.

Till now, Adarshila has saved hundreds of lives. When these parents first arrive, they often have nothing. No belongings, no support, and no hope. They come in starving, sick, emotionally shattered, and sometimes close to death. Many are so deeply hurt that they cannot even understand why their own children left them behind.

They need food, medical attention, a clean bed, and above all, counselling to slowly help them accept the heartbreaking truth that their children may never return.

And yet, this is the beauty of a parent’s heart, even after everything their children have done, many of them are still ready to forgive them. That is the kind of unconditional love they carry.

But today, Adarshila Old Age Home is struggling to keep up with rising expenses. The cost of regular meals, critical medical care, daily medicines, and shelter maintenance is becoming difficult to manage.
