A Blind Founder’s Mission To Light The Future Of Other Blind Children

There are still countless homes where a child who cannot see is not seen for their potential, but for the responsibility they bring. No matter how deeply parents love them, society often makes them feel like a burden. Questions begin to rise before their future even gets a chance – Who will take them to school? Who will bring them back? What is the use of education when they cannot even see? Slowly, their dreams are dismissed before they are even born.

But at Louise Braille Drishtiheen, these children are not seen through the lens of limitation. Here, they are seen with hope. For the last 40 years, this institution has been a guiding light for blind children, helping them discover that darkness in the eyes does not mean darkness in life. They are taught Braille education, prepared for board examinations through open university, and given the confidence to build an independent future. Beyond academics, the children are also trained in music, computer education, and life skills, helping them explore their talents and realize that they are capable of achieving everything they once thought was impossible.

What makes this place even more special is the heart behind it. The founder of this organization is himself blind. He has lived the same pain, faced the same barriers, and understands every silent struggle these children go through. He knows what it feels like when the world underestimates you. That is why he dedicated his life to ensuring that no blind child feels helpless or left behind. His own journey has become a source of light for hundreds of children who now dare to dream fearlessly.

Every facility here from education and skill training to midday meals and care – is provided completely free of cost. Not a single rupee is asked from these children or their families.
