Some say they live by this quote: “Treat those who have no one like Gods and you will be blessed.” But for many, practising such compassion feels next to impossible until they witness the reality some people live through.
Today in Hyderabad, that very compassion took form.

It’s a city of bustling dreams and quiet heartbreak where many elderly parents, once pillars of strength and sacrifice, now find themselves abandoned. They raised their children with love, with hope, and with dreams of seeing them successful. And while many of those dreams came true, the ones who helped make them happen were often forgotten in the process.
Now, with nothing left but a fading sense of dignity, these elders roam the streets, hungry not just for food but for recognition, for someone to look them in the eye and say, “You still matter.”

Begging, once unthinkable to them, has become their only option. But with every hand they stretch out, a part of their self-worth crumbles.
That’s where one man decided to change the narrative.
George Rakesh Babu, the founder of Good Samaritan, began what he calls the Theory of 1 Rupee. He understood that these people didn’t just need food, they needed respect. And so, instead of giving meals away, he asked them to pay something. Just one rupee. A small coin but a powerful symbol. Because in that moment, they weren’t beggars. They were people paying for their meal. People with choice, pride, and dignity.

This small act has restored faith in countless hearts and brought comfort to those who had almost given up on humanity. What started with one man’s vision is now becoming a movement of hope.
But the work is far from over.
“There are so many out there,” George says, “who long for just one meal a day. For most of us, a meal is a routine, but for them, it’s a dream. If I can reach even one more person and tell them, ‘You are not forgotten, ’ that means everything.”

And now, you have the chance to be part of this mission.
This isn’t just about feeding the hungry, it’s about restoring their place in the world. Every rupee, every meal, every gesture of kindness goes towards something far greater: giving someone back their dignity.
But the Good Samaritan Foundation cannot do this alone. To prepare more meals, to reach more people, to listen to more forgotten stories, we need your support.
Your donation can help keep this beautiful act of love alive. Your generosity can remind someone that they are not alone.

Even a small contribution can help us cook more food, serve more lives, and continue saying, “You are still worthy. You are still loved.”
Donate now. And let’s bring back dignity one rupee at a time.
