Project:
“When I first began Shri Shyam Gau Seva Samiti, people laughed at me. Some said I was crazy, others called it a waste of time and money. But what they couldn’t see was what I saw, the pain in the eyes of a wounded cow, the helplessness of a soul that couldn’t speak yet felt every bit of agony. I didn’t start this to prove a point. I started it because I couldn’t bear to look away anymore.
Years ago, I found my first injured cow lying by the roadside, bleeding and abandoned. Her breathing was shallow, and people walked past her as if she didn’t exist. I sat beside her for hours, whispering softly, praying she’d survive. She did.
That moment changed everything for me. It was as if God himself had placed a calling in my heart, a mission to serve Gau Mata till my last breath. That’s how Shri Shyam Gau Seva Samiti was born.
In the beginning, it was just me, a small shelter, and a handful of rescued cows. I had no money, no big organization supporting me, only faith and a stubborn heart. There were days I didn’t know how I’d feed them the next morning. People mocked me, called me foolish for giving my life to animals that “don’t speak.” But that’s exactly why I stayed, because they can’t ask for help, but they feel everything.
Then came one of the darkest chapters, the outbreak of the lumpy skin disease that spread like wildfire across India. Every day, I watched cows die in pain, fever, sores, and weakness consuming them one after another. It felt like a storm that wouldn’t end.
My phone wouldn’t stop ringing, people from nearby villages begging me to come and save their dying cows. I worked day and night, with barely any rest. I remember standing in the rain, trying to save a calf that couldn’t even stand. We lost many, but by God’s grace, we saved so many more. Those who survived still stand in my gaushala today, living, breathing proof that compassion can conquer even death.
Today, Shri Shyam Gau Seva Samiti has grown to become a home for over 100 cows, each with its own story of pain, healing, and hope. But I’ll be honest, times are very tough. The medical needs are constant. With so many cows recovering from diseases, injuries, and age-related issues, our expenses have gone beyond what we can manage. We are running out of medicines, warm bedding for the winter, and even food.
Every day feels like a battle, between what we need and what we have. But I refuse to give up, just like I didn’t years ago when people called me mad. I still believe that kindness can move mountains, that humanity is not dead.
If you’re reading this, I ask you, not as a founder, but as a human, please come forward. Help us feed these voiceless souls. Help us heal them. Even a small contribution can mean a meal, a medicine, a life saved.
Because at the end of the day, Shri Shyam Gau Seva Samiti is not just about cows, it’s about compassion. And compassion, I believe, is what keeps the world alive.”
