Project:
In every household, we speak of the importance of a guru. We light lamps, chant prayers, and teach our children to bow in respect. We say that the Guru is even greater than God, because it is through the Guru that we are shown the path to reach Him.
But while we celebrate this sacred day with rituals and reverence, the painful truth is that the very individuals who’ve dedicated their lives to spiritual service are suffering in silence.

In the holy city of Ayodhya, a place known for devotion, countless sadhus and spiritual gurus are battling extreme poverty, neglect, and starvation. These are men who have spent their entire lives in prayer and service. They have given up worldly pleasures, chosen lives of simplicity, and made it their purpose to guide others towards the divine.
They do not have families to fall back on. They do not have bank accounts or savings.
They rely solely on the goodwill of people and sadly, that goodwill has faded with time.

Today, many of them sleep on cold temple floors or beneath trees. They eat what little is offered, and on most days, they eat nothing at all. They face sickness without medicine, weakness without food, and aging bodies without support.
Even though their voices continue to chant the name of God, their bodies are slowly giving up. These are not just men in saffron robes. They are spiritual guides, mentors, seekers of truth, and in many ways, the silent protectors of our collective faith.

And yet, they are starving. Forgotten. Helpless.
At True Hope Foundation, we couldn’t turn away from this heartbreaking reality. We saw what many chose to ignore and we’ve decided to act.
This Guru Purnima, we’ve made it our goal that not a single sadhu or spiritual elder in Ayodhya should go to bed hungry. No one who has given their life in devotion should have to beg for a bite of food or suffer without medical care. We have begun providing nutritious meals to help rebuild strength.

But we cannot do this alone. The number of sadhus in need is far greater than our current resources. That’s why we are reaching out to you with folded hands and hope in our hearts. Your donation can ensure that a sadhu doesn’t spend another day in hunger.
This Guru Purnima, don’t just perform a ritual.Take action. Make it count. Serve those who have spent their entire lives serving the divine. Join True Hope Foundation in this sacred mission. Donate now. Because no sadhu deserves to suffer in silence.
