Karimul Haq, widely known as “Ambulance Dada,” is a true hero who has dedicated his life to saving others after a personal tragedy. Hailing from a small village in West Bengal, Karimul’s journey of compassion began in 1995, when he lost his mother due to the lack of medical facilities and ambulances in his remote village. Stricken with grief and determined to ensure that no one else would lose a loved one in such a way, Karimul resolved to become the lifeline for his community.
Without access to a proper ambulance, Karimul started using his motorbike to ferry patients to the nearest hospital, which was over 40 kilometers away. In the early days, he would simply place patients on the back of his bike, rushing through the rough and uneven roads to get them medical help. However, he soon realized the need for a more secure and comfortable solution. Using his creativity and limited resources, he attached a side trolley to his motorbike, essentially creating a mobile ambulance. This innovative approach allowed him to transport patients safely, minimizing the risk of further injury during the ride.
Over the years, Karimul’s bike ambulance became a lifeline for his village and surrounding areas. He has transported more than 7,000 people to the hospital, often free of cost, saving countless lives along the way. His selfless dedication earned him the nickname “Ambulance Dada,” a term of endearment and respect from those whose lives he has touched. His work caught national attention, and in 2017, Karimul Haq was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honors, for his extraordinary contribution to society.
However, despite the recognition, Karimul’s mission to provide healthcare to the poor continues. Even with his tireless efforts, the journey to the hospital remains a long and arduous one. The distance of 40 kilometers means that many lives are still at risk due to the delayed access to medical care. To address this, Karimul has embarked on a new project – building a hospital in his village. The hospital will provide immediate medical attention to the people in his area, dramatically reducing the loss of life due to delayed treatment.
The hospital is currently under construction, but progress has been slow due to a lack of funds. Karimul Haq is now reaching out to the public for support. He believes that with collective help, he can complete the hospital and ensure that more lives are saved. Karimul’s dream is not just about building a hospital; it’s about creating a future where no one has to suffer the pain of losing a loved one due to a lack of medical facilities.
Karimul Haq’s journey from a grieving son to a life-saving hero is a testament to the power of one person’s determination to make a difference. He is now calling on all of us to support his mission. Your donation, no matter how small, can help him build this hospital and continue his lifesaving work. Together, we can ensure that Ambulance Dada’s legacy of compassion and bravery lives on for generations to come.
