Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila Seva Kunj, based in Surendranagar, Gujarat, is a remarkable organization that serves as a sanctuary for over 200 blind and disabled children who have been abandoned by their families. Founded in 1995 with just four girls, the organization has grown tremendously, now providing a safe and nurturing environment for more than 200 blind girls and 50 additional children with various disabilities. Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila Seva Kunj not only offers shelter but also focuses on holistic development, offering education, dance, music, and home science classes to equip these children with skills that foster independence and joy.
The organization is more than just a home; it is a community where children, who were once neglected and rejected due to their differences, find acceptance, love, and purpose. The organization has extended its compassionate reach beyond children, taking care of elderly blind individuals who are often isolated and in need of support. Through programs that stimulate creativity, develop life skills, and provide emotional support, Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila Seva Kunj ensures that every individual, regardless of age, feels valued and cared for.
However, despite the noble work carried out by the organization, Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila Seva Kunj faces significant challenges. Under the leadership of Reena Jasani, they have expanded to include four more branches across Gujarat—in Morbi, Ahmedabad, Vapi, and other locations. With each expansion, the demand for resources has multiplied, creating a need for increased funding to sustain and grow these essential services.
The organization urgently requires financial support to build additional rooms to accommodate the growing number of children, provide daily necessities like food and ration supplies, and acquire essential resources such as blind sticks, Braille paper, and Braille slates to support the children’s learning.
The dedication of Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila Seva Kunj to these vulnerable individuals is inspiring, but without external support, continuing this work becomes a daunting task. Every single donation has a direct impact on the lives of the children and elderly individuals who rely on the organization for their day-to-day needs and future aspirations. By contributing to Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila Seva Kunj, you are helping to ensure that these children and elders receive not only basic needs but also opportunities for growth, learning, and happiness in an inclusive, supportive community.
