Some arrive with broken legs. Some with crushed limbs. Some with wounds so deep that maggots have begun to eat through their flesh. These are the heartbreaking stories of the injured dogs that find their way to Jeev Ashray.

For many of them, the streets were a place of endless suffering. Hit by speeding vehicles, abused, neglected, or simply abandoned once they became weak and injured, these voiceless animals had nowhere to go and no one to care for them. Today, more than 100 such helpless dogs live at Jeev Ashray – not as strays, but as survivors who have finally found a safe place to heal.

What makes this sanctuary even more remarkable is how it began.

It started with just one injured dog. A single rescue that unknowingly led to the creation of a shelter where hundreds of paralyzed, injured, and abandoned dogs would later find a second chance at life. That one life changed everything.

Behind this mission is Amit Ji, the founder of Jeev Ashray, who has dedicated his life to the welfare of these voiceless souls. For years, he has been rescuing dogs from roadsides, drains, accident sites, and places where they were left to die. But rescuing them is only the beginning.

At Jeev Ashray, these dogs are given proper meals, medical treatment, medicines, and most importantly, love and dignity. Many of them are permanently paralyzed and cannot survive on their own again. Here, they receive care every single day – from cleaning wounds and physiotherapy to feeding and emotional comfort.

But caring for more than 100 injured and disabled dogs is not easy, especially for one person.
