Kandara is just 13 years old, yet his world has been swallowed by pain and darkness. What began nearly six months ago as a swelling on his head has now turned into a devastating 2.5 kg football-sized tumour that is slowly crushing his life. Every passing moment feels unbearable for him – pain so intense, as if thousands of needles are piercing his head at once. The weight of the tumour is not only causing constant agony but has already begun to steal his eyesight, leaving this young child trapped in fear, suffering, and darkness.
Once a bright boy studying in the 6th standard, Kandara dreamed of one day becoming an officer and making his family proud. But today, instead of carrying books to school, he is carrying the unbearable burden of a life-threatening disease. He has been forced to leave his studies behind and spend his childhood battling cancer, while the dreams he once held close are slipping away.
Kandara’s father is a small farmer and daily-wage labourer, working in his own fields just to earn enough for the family’s survival. His mother is a homemaker, doing everything she can to care for her son as his condition worsens each day. Kandara has three sisters and one brother. As the youngest and most cherished member of the family, Kandara has always been deeply loved, and watching him suffer like this is breaking their hearts every single day.
Because of their poor financial condition, the family first rushed him to a government hospital, where he was given only basic medicines and sent back home. But the tumour kept growing. It now affects his vision, causes excruciating pain, and has made it difficult for him to even eat properly.
Doctors have now given the family a terrifying ultimatum: without urgent surgery, Kandara may not survive. He has been referred to Sunshine Hospital, where he urgently needs surgery to remove the tumour, followed by chemotherapy and radiation, along with a long hospital stay. The total cost of this life-saving treatment is estimated to be ₹12 lakh – an impossible amount for a daily-wage family to arrange overnight.
His father can do nothing but watch the clock tick, praying for a miracle as time slips through his hands and his child slips closer to danger. For Kandara, waiting is no longer an option. Your support is now his only hope.
Please come forward and help pull this child out of agonizing pain and the jaws of death. Donate now!
