Project:
This is Indrakumar, a 14-year-old boy suffering from severe scoliosis, motor delay, and club foot. While boys his age run, play, and dream freely, Indrakumar mostly watches the world from where he sits.
Since childhood, these conditions have made it impossible for him to stand or walk on his own. Every small movement takes effort, and even the simplest tasks are a struggle.
“I feel like I am trapped inside this body,” Indrakumar says softly.
“I can’t even go to the toilet by myself.”
Like every other child, he has dreams. He wants to run, to study, and to sit in a classroom with other children. But right now, even the smallest things in life feel impossible.
“Hey Bhagwan, gareeb ko aisi bimaari kabhi na dena…”
(Oh God, I pray that the poor never suffer from such an illness.)
These are the helpless words of Indrakumar’s mother. Every day she watches her son struggle with pain, wishing she could take it away.
Indrakumar has two sisters, and his parents work tirelessly to support the family. Both his mother and father are daily-wage labourers, earning around ₹12,000 a month together. Their hands are rough from years of labour, their hearts heavy with worry, yet they continue to fight for their son.
Over the years, Indrakumar’s father has spent nearly ₹2 lakhs on treatments and consultations, selling small belongings, borrowing money when needed, and putting his son’s needs before everything else.
Still, it has not been enough.
Often, Indrakumar looks at his father and asks an innocent question that breaks his parents’ hearts:
“Papa, aap mujhe kisi bade hospital mein ilaaj ke liye kyun nahi le jaate?”
(Father, why can’t you take me to a big hospital for treatment?)
The truth is devastating. Treatment and medicines in bigger hospitals are extremely expensive. For a family surviving on daily wages, it feels impossible.
But there is still hope.
Doctors at Suretech Hospital have estimated ₹9.5 lakhs for Indrakumar’s treatment like surgeries, therapies, and rehabilitation that could help correct his spinal condition and give him a chance to move toward a life with dignity and independence.
Despite his struggle, Indrakumar continues to dream.
He wants to go to school like other children, study hard, and become someone who can support his family one day.
Right now, that chance depends on the kindness of people like you.
Your support can help Indrakumar receive the treatment he desperately needs and give this young boy the chance to stand on his own feet.
Donate today and help change Indrakumar’s life.
