Project:
When Seema lost both her parents, her world fell apart. The pain of watching them grow old and frail, and not being able to do more for them, left a void that no words could ever fill.
But out of that heartbreak was born Sarthak Charitable Trust, a place where she decided to become a daughter again, not just to her own parents, but to every elderly soul who has been forgotten by their family, ignored by society, and abandoned in the most painful years of their lives.
Every corner of Sarthak tells a story. Stories of men and women who were once parents, grandparents, and caretakers, now left behind by their own children. Some were beaten, others thrown out of their homes. Many arrived with bruises that time might heal, but hearts that never will.
Seema often says, “When I sit beside them, they don’t speak. But their silence breaks me more than words ever could. Their tears speak volumes.”
Today, 68 elders call Sarthak Charitable Trust their home. Here, Seema and her small team ensure that each of them is cared for with love, dignity, and respect. Every single day is a struggle, from arranging food and clothes to ensuring medical treatment for those who are too weak to walk or even eat on their own.
Seema personally visits each one of them, often feeding them herself, reminding them that they are not forgotten… that there is still love left in this world.
The trust runs entirely on donations and goodwill. But love alone cannot sustain a home. Medicines, diapers, adult supplements, food, and hospital visits, the expenses pile up every day.
“Sometimes I wake up wondering how I’ll manage tomorrow,” Seema says softly. “But then I look at their faces, the way they smile when someone calls them ‘Maa’ or ‘Baba’, and I know I can’t stop.”
Sarthak Charitable Trust is not just an old age home. It’s a home of second chances, where broken souls find healing, and neglected elders find family again. Yet, to continue this mission, Seema needs your help. Every rupee you give helps feed a forgotten father, clothe an abandoned mother, and give medicine to someone in unbearable pain.
For Seema, this is not charity, this is love in its purest form. And through Sarthak, she hopes to fulfill the promise she once made to herself: to never let another parent die in loneliness.
