“Although our foundation is named “Aasra,” meaning “support,” today, I find myself unable to fully fulfill that promise.”

These words come from Charu Khare, the compassionate founder of Aasra – The Helping Hand. Charu is a person who believes in helping the voiceless, rescuing animals, protecting them, and most importantly, loving them unconditionally. It all started in Charu’s childhood when she watched her father feed and care for stray animals on the streets. Whether providing food or medical aid, Charu learned from a young age the importance of compassion. After her father’s passing, Charu took his dream as her own and decided to start Aasra, dedicating her life to rescuing animals in need.

Charu has poured her heart into this cause. She has seen countless animals suffering in silence—unable to speak but crying with their eyes and showing their pain through wounds. Despite the emotional toll, Charu’s commitment remains unwavering. She provides these animals with medical care, shelter, and food. Whether it’s picking up an injured animal in the middle of the night or rushing to treat a sick one, Charu is always there to help.

However, Aasra is now facing an overwhelming challenge. The number of animals needing rescue continues to rise, and the small facility that Charu manages can no longer accommodate all of them. The foundation is struggling to provide enough space, food, and medical supplies to care for the growing number of animals. Aasra has successfully helped over 100 animals, including dogs, monkeys, and other stray creatures. While Charu dreams of rescuing even more, the foundation’s resources are stretched thin. Despite her efforts, Charu feels helpless in the face of this crisis.
