“I don’t know how or why I ended up here…”
“I gave so much to my family, so much to my children… and this is the life that I am living.” These words come from the helpless older people that cry out in pain with their heavy hearts. They say things no one should ever have to say in their final years…
Sadly, these are not just words, they are wounds. Each sentence carries decades of love, sacrifice, and service… now met with abandonment. Once, these elders were the ones who stayed up all night when a child was sick, who skipped meals so their families could eat,
who worked tirelessly to ensure their children had the future they never did.

And now? Now they sit in quiet corners, staring at the door, still hoping that one day someone they loved will walk in and take them home. It was in the face of this deep pain that the Citizen Welfare Association was born. The founders could not look away.
They started with just two elderly people, welcoming them into a small bungalow offering them not just a bed, but the warmth of human care. From those humble beginnings, the need grew. Word spread, not just about shelter, but about dignity, about love, about having someone who will listen to your stories and wipe away your tears.

Today, the Citizen Welfare Association has grown to care for more than 60 elderly men and women who have nowhere else to go. Here, they are given food simple, warm meals that fill both stomach and heart. They are given medicines for their aches, their illnesses, their chronic conditions. They are taken to the hospital when emergencies strike, but without a proper ambulance, every urgent trip is a race against time.

And now, the home is at a turning point. The number of elders seeking refuge is rising, but resources are stretched to the limit. Food stocks are running low. Medicines are expensive.
An ambulance is desperately needed to respond to emergencies.
Every day, the team is trying to do their best to make sure no elder goes to sleep hungry or in pain but without support, this will become harder and harder.
Donors, there is a reason you are reading this. When you think of donating, don’t just think of it as giving money. Think of it as putting a plate of food in front of someone who hasn’t eaten all day. Think of it as placing life-saving medicine in the hands of someone who has no one else to care for them. Think of it as replacing tears of despair with tears of relief.

Every rupee you give will go directly towards these elders’ food, medicine, shelter, and emergency care. Your donation could mean the difference between pain and comfort, between loneliness and love, between despair and dignity.
Please… for the sake of those who once gave us everything, help us give them something back in the years they have left. Donate now.
