Project:

In every image of Lord Krishna, there is always a cow standing by His side, resting her head gently on His shoulder, as if she knows she is safe.

But today… thousands of Gaumatas are not safe.

They are bleeding, abandoned, injured on roads, left to die in pain. And while we prepare to celebrate the birth of Krishna with joy, light, and devotion… His beloved companions are silently suffering in the shadows.

I serve at Guardians of Angels, a shelter that rescues injured and abandoned cows.

Every day, I witness what most hearts are not prepared to see. Gaumatas dragged by vehicles, crushed, starving, infected, and left with wounds so deep they cry without sound.

Some I reach in time. Others collapse in my lap breathing their last, while I whisper a prayer they’ll never hear.

Those eyes… they don’t leave me. Because in them, I see Kanha. Every single time. And still, we keep going.

Because love doesn’t stop. Because seva is a promise not a project. But now… I’m helpless.

We are running out of space. We are running out of funds.

There is no proper shelter left for the new rescues. No ambulance to rush the dying. Food and medicine are barely enough for the ones already here.

And Janmashtami is around the corner.

The world will light lamps, sing bhajans, and celebrate the divine birth of Krishna… But what about the ones he loved the most?

Will they be forgotten on His birthday? I’m not asking for much.

I’m just asking that as you celebrate Janmashtami this year, you remember His cows too.

That you become their Kanha. Your one act of compassion, a small donation can give a Gaumata another chance at life.

It can provide food, shelter, medicine, and love. It can help us build a safe home for them… so they no longer die waiting on the roadside.

Because Janmashtami isn’t just about devotion. It’s about action. And the greatest offering you can give Krishna is kindness to His beloved creatures.

Let this Janmashtami be the day someone lived… because of you. Please donate. Please share. Please care.
