Project:
This Krishna Janmashtami, be the light in the lives of those who have devoted everything to the Lord.
In the holy town of Vrindavan, where the divine footsteps of Bhagwan Shri Krishna echo through every street and temple, there resides a silent yet sacred community of elderly widow Matajis. These women, having faced abandonment, pain, and the loss of family and support, have chosen to surrender themselves completely to the lotus feet of Krishna. With no one to turn to, they have made Vrindavan their eternal home—living not for luxury, but for bhakti, prayer, and divine love.

But their reality is heart-wrenching.
Most of these Matajis live in half-constructed jhuggis—fragile shelters made of tin sheets, plastic, and bricks—barely able to protect them from harsh weather. During the monsoons, their small huts leak. During summers, they bear the scorching heat with no electricity. In winters, they tremble with no woolen clothing or blankets. Despite all these struggles, they wake up every morning with one prayer on their lips—“Radhe Radhe”.

They have no steady income, no pensions, no families to support them. Food is scarce—some days they eat, some days they fast not out of devotion but because they have nothing. Electricity bills, even if minimal, remain unpaid. Many Matajis walk barefoot through the streets of Vrindavan, their feet cracked and wounded, because they cannot afford even a pair of slippers. Others drape themselves in torn sarees and use broken umbrellas—if any—to protect themselves from rain.

Yet, they chant. They sing bhajans. They gather in small temples to perform kirtans. Their love for Krishna is unconditional, and their faith unshakable.
This Krishna Janmashtami, while we decorate our homes and prepare sweets, let us remember these real devotees of Shri Krishna. They don’t ask for much—just a little support to continue their spiritual journey in dignity.

Your Contribution = Their Peace and Bhakti
From the comfort of your home, you can light up the lives of these Matajis who have chosen to live not for themselves, but for Krishna. Let this Janmashtami be the day you give back to those who pray for the well-being of the world, even while silently suffering in the shadows.
📿 Support these real saints of Vrindavan. Let them continue their bhakti with dignity.
🕉️ Every donation is a seva to Bhagwan Krishna Himself.
