Project:
There are moments in life that no parent should ever have to face. For Satyapal and his wife, that moment came without warning — the day doctors told them their four-year-old son, Satvik, had a malignant brain tumor.
Just a month ago, Satvik was a joyful, ordinary child from Madhya Pradesh — the kind of little boy who fills a home with noise and laughter. Today, that same child lies in a hospital bed, his body slowly giving in to a disease that should never touch someone so young. The tumor is growing. His movement is becoming increasingly restricted as partial paralysis sets in. The pain is constant. And yet, through it all, Satvik endures — because he doesn’t know any different.
A Family Already Broken by Loss
Before Satvik came into their lives, Satyapal and his wife welcomed a baby girl. She passed away just fifteen days after birth, taken by an infection before she ever had the chance to know the world. The grief of that loss never fully left them. Satvik became everything — their healing, their joy, and their reason to keep going. He is their only child. He is their entire world.
And now, they are at risk of losing him too.
A Race Against Time
On March 13th, as Satvik’s condition deteriorated rapidly, doctors at Suretech Hospital in Nagpur performed an emergency procedure called VP shunting. Fluid had been dangerously accumulating in his brain, and without this surgery, his life was immediately at risk. The procedure offered temporary relief — but the results of the subsequent biopsy shattered whatever hope remained. The tumor is cancerous. Doctors have now charted the path forward: post-surgical recovery, followed by chemotherapy, and ongoing medical care that will stretch across months. The total estimated cost of Satvik’s complete treatment is ₹12.5 lakhs.
For most families, this is a difficult sum. For Satvik’s family, it is unimaginable.
A Father Who Can Do Nothing But Try
Satyapal Patel runs a small tailoring shop. On a good month, he earns around ₹5,000 to ₹6,000. His wife manages the home. They live in a house provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana a roof over their heads, but no financial cushion beneath them. Since Satvik fell ill, they have managed to spend ₹10,000 on his care. That is everything they had. There is nothing left.Every day, Satyapal sits beside his son’s hospital bed — a father who knows how to stitch fabric together but has no way to stitch this moment back to something normal. He is not asking for charity out of pride. He is asking because his son is running out of time, and he has exhausted every option he has.
What Satvik Needs — and What You Can Do
Satvik needs chemotherapy. He needs continued monitoring and medical care. He needs the chance to recover from surgery in a safe, supported environment. None of that is possible without funding. The doctors are ready. The treatment plan is in place. The only thing standing between Satvik and a fighting chance at life is the cost of that treatment.
He is four years old. He has already been through more than most people face in a lifetime. He deserves the chance to grow up, go to school, make friends, and live the simple, beautiful life that every child is entitled to. Please give what you can. Please share wherever you can. Satvik is waiting.
