Project:
“We never thought we’d have to bury a child. But we did. Our baby boy passed away just two months after birth because of breathing problems. And before that, we lost another baby to a miscarriage. As parents, that pain never leaves you. But we kept going… hoping that at least the children we have would live a better life.” says Harsh and Vanshikha’s father with a trembling voice.
But life had other plans.

Our eldest son, Harsh, is 9 years old. He was born with Cerebral Palsy with quadriparesis, mental retardation, and severe contractures. The day he was born, we didn’t even know what these words meant. But over time, we understood that our son may never walk, may never run, may never say a full sentence. He still can’t.
He can’t speak, eat, or sit without help. His limbs are stiff, twisted, and painful. And yet, when he hears his father’s voice, he says one word: “Papa.” That’s all. That’s everything.

He needs help even to turn in bed. He looks at the world but can’t respond the way a child should. And we? We try to stay strong, but how do you hold back tears when your child cries and you can’t even understand what hurts him?
As if that wasn’t enough, our 4-year-old daughter Vanshika is also suffering. She’s deaf in one ear and has only 20% hearing in the other. Her words come out unclear. She struggles to connect, to make friends, to express what she feels.

Sometimes she just stares at us blankly, trying to understand what we’re saying. We speak slowly. We repeat. But she’s lost in silence most of the time.
We live in a rented house, and I (the father) sell vegetables on a cart. I earn ₹200 a day, some days, even less. Our rent is ₹3,000 a month. We’ve already spent ₹5 lakhs on Harsh’s treatment. We sold our land, borrowed from relatives, and used every rupee of our savings.
There are days we don’t sleep. At night we cry silently next to our children, making sure they don’t see. But now… we’re afraid. We’re afraid we might lose this fight.

The doctors at Abhinav Balaji Hospital say there’s still hope. Harsh needs ₹9 lakhs for surgery and physiotherapy. Vanshika needs a cochlear implant costing ₹5–6 lakhs.
Together, ₹15 lakhs could give our children the gift of life.
We don’t have the means. But we have the courage to ask… Please help us.

Help Harsh walk, talk, and respond beyond just one word. Help Vanshika hear the world around her for the first time.
We are just helpless parents, asking for your help! Please… from one parent to another… help us. They’re all that we have!
