Warm Winters Campaign: How Your Donations Bring Comfort to Vulnerable Communities

Blog Image
  • Winter looks different depending on where you’re standing.
  • For some of us, it’s cozy blankets, warm socks, and endless cups of chai.  For thousands of vulnerable people across India… winter is something else entirely. It’s fear. It’s aching cold. It’s long nights with no blanket, no roof, no warmth. It’s hoping you make it to the next morning.
  • That’s why True Hope Foundation’s Warm Winters Campaign exists. To bring more than blankets and sweaters. To bring comfort. To bring dignity. To bring a little bit of hope into nights that would otherwise be unbearable.
  • Winter Is Not Harmless But A Reality We Don’t Talk About Enough
  • Here’s the part that’s hard to read but necessary:
  • Between 2019 and 2023, at least 3,639 people in India lost their lives to cold-wave exposure. Most of them were homeless, elderly, abandoned, or living in unstable shelters.
  • And in just the 2024–25 winter, the capital region alone saw 474 homeless people die because they didn’t have warm clothing or a safe place to sleep.
  • Cold doesn’t just make you uncomfortable, it makes existing problems deadly. Respiratory illnesses worsen. Chronic diseases flare up. Mental health declines. Bodies already struggling get pushed past their limits.
  • These aren’t “numbers.” Each number is a person. A story. Someone who didn’t deserve to freeze to death on a pavement.
  • And here’s why, like every other year, this winter too, we’re stepping up, and your help makes it possible!
  • True Hope Foundation is running multiple on-ground campaigns across India.  Here’s the heart of it:

1. Hungry & Cold Alone, Vrindavan’s Matajis Are Struggling

  • These elderly women, most abandoned, most invisible,  face brutal winter nights with nothing. Your donations give them warm blankets, winter wear, hot meals, and basic essentials.

2. As the Sadhus Shiver in Silence, Give Them Warmth & Hope

  • Many sadhus meditate outdoors with minimal shelter. Winters hit them hard. Your support helps provide warm clothing, blankets, and survival essentials.

3. She Lived Years in Thorns, Now They Live Nights in the Cold

  • Women and families who escaped painful, difficult environments are now trying to rebuild their lives, but winter puts them at risk again. Your donation keeps them warm, safe, and supported through rehabilitation

Where Does Your Help Go?

  • Every rupee you give becomes something real and immediate:
  • blankets woolen clothing hot meals  winter relief kits temporary shelter support

  • Your warmth can save someone’s winter and the truth is simple, for people living through these harsh nights, your donation isn’t “help.”  It’s survival. It’s comfort. It’s hope wrapped in a blanket. If you can give even a little this winter, it’ll mean more than you know.
